Character name: Komatsu Nana (Hachi)
Series: Nana
Age: 20
Canon: Lead vocalist Osaki Nana just wants to sing and debut with her punk band, the Black Stones. Komatsu Nana is a girl who falls in love at the drop of a hat and depends on her friends to listen to her and help her out of any difficult situation. Both girls meet by chance on a train headed for Tokyo while chasing their very different dreams. Coincidences result in them sharing an apartment together, and despite being wildly different both in personality and ideals, they soon become close friends. Tackling romance, friendships and life problems, they each strive for what they want the most: Osaki Nana for fame and Komatsu Nana for love.
Komatsu Nana’s dream is to live a happy and fulfilled life, with a nice husband and a picturesque family. Initially she goes to Tokyo to stay with her boyfriend, Shouji, and continue their relationship. Having never lived on her own, Nana is very trusting and believes life to be bed of roses. She soon realizes that being a responsible, functioning adult is harder than she first imagined. She’s nicknamed ‘Hachi’ by her roommate, the other Nana, because Hachi resembles a puppy. Hachi, short for Hachiko, is much like a puppy herself. Affectionate, friendly and excitable with a tendency to ramble a lot and forgetting about other people in the room, Hachi gets stuck in her own thoughts and even goes on long tangents, making up full on stories. She’s a huge attention drain and above all else... loyal, hence the namesake. Though her outlook on life is childish and she cries easily if things take a bad turn, Hachi gradually matures as her life in Tokyo progresses not entirely without heartbreak.
Note: Hachi often speaks to "The Great Demon Lord", a higher power of her own creation to whom she gives thanks or places blame depending on the situation. Takumi is the pretty-faced bassist of a popular band in Nana, called Trapnest.
Sample:
Hey, I just met you, and this is crazy, but here's my number, so call me, maybe?
That's really bold, you can't just launch into asking for a lady’s’ number without talking to her first! I’m flattered, and I’d love to get to know you, but you need a proper introduction, like a name and age! ...maybe if you look like Takumi, we can talk.
Okay, so tell us about yourself and what you like in a few words, then?
Right! Hello, it’s nice to meet you, I’m Komatsu Nana! ♫ I live in Tokyo, sharing an apartment with a very good friend of mine. Her name is also Nana, but she calls me Hachiko. Do you think it’s cute? It’s not a very cute name, is it... She says it’s because I’m like a puppy, but I don’t agree with her! I mean, even if puppies are cute and all. Mmh, I like a lot of things, like shopping and fashion and listening to music and eating out at cute cafés and oh... if I could find some nice and cute guy to spend my life with, like Shouji—
...
...I’m... I’m sorry. I’m all right, I just got something in my eye. I think I’m just rambling a little, ehe. I know I have to work hard to get where I want to go! To begin with, I’d have to get a job. Perhaps at a cute store where I can wear pretty dresses. Are there any jobs like that here?
Why are you joining our happy community?
I don’t know, to be honest I’m not quite sure. I was just about to go home and then suddenly I was here! It’s all so strange and foreign and I don’t know what to do... This must be the work of the Great Demon Lord, I’m sure of it! Maybe I’m dreaming, like one of those strange not-quite nightmares that doesn’t really scare you but really make you wonder where you are when you wake up.
—actually, I think I want to wake up right now. Those are only people in costumes, right? Right? But why would people dress up like zombies in the middle of the day? Maybe it’s a photo shoot... or a filming? A filming would be kind of neat, and if that’s the case, you don’t have to wake me up! This place looks a little like a setting in horror movie, eeeee~ I can’t see a camera team though. I-it’s a little freaky. If this is a dream, I can’t have it turn into a nightmare...!
If there was a good dog and a criminal both hanging from a cliff and you could only save one, which would you save and why?
Eh? Whose dog? Did the criminal steal it? Why are they hanging from the cliff? Is this perhaps part of the movie shoot...? There should be a way to save both of them at once. I’d call the police, or maybe the fire department? I can’t just leave either of them for the other, it’d be awful! They should both be saved, and then the criminal has to stand charge for what he or she did.
Do you have a five year plan in mind?
Hmmm, well... I would love to find a good paying job and save up money for things I want to do and continue to live a wonderful life in Tokyo. Just to get a stable life and live a happy life with a cute guy is enough for me. We’d have a wonderful wedding and then we’d move to this average apartment, but we’d still get by and have a loving and happy relationship. At least that’s what I’ve always thought about. I hope it’s still possible... Mhm!
If you could choose to bring three objects to a desert island, what would you bring and why?
Can I only bring three things? That’s not fair at all. I couldn’t bring only three dresses! How long would I be on the island? What’s already there? Is there a house? Or a bed? I can’t bring a bed, can I? And I need to bring my cellphone, there could be reception... can I bring people? I wonder what Nana would say if I asked her to come... Maybe that’s a bit selfish.
Are you sure you wouldn't want a shotgun
W-what? Why would I need to bring a shotgun?! Is it going to be that dangerous? Wait, you’re not actually going to take me to a desert island and leave me there? Calm down, self. Remember, this is just a dream. You’ll wake up any moment now, for sure.
Are you looking forward to your stay in camp? Feel free to comment.
Hey, Great Demon Lord, it's me again, Hachi. I think I must’ve eaten something really bad the night before. Maybe the vegetables were outdated. I really hope I haven’t gotten food poisoning and gone to your realm. It’s too strange! This must all be your grand scheme, but I really would have liked to know in advance!

I did vote out, I'm afraid. I do understand the enthusiastic use of punctuation for a character like Hachi, but the voice in the app felt very stilted to me, and the tiny broken sentences made her seem more young than innocent, if that makes sense.
