Character: Alex Louis Armstrong
Series: Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood

Canon: In the country of Amestris the people use a strange, powerful art known as alchemy. Falling somewhere between science and mysticism, alchemy gives people the power to change or transmute their surrounding to suit their needs. Of course, even if Amestris wasn't a regimented military nation, such a strong, potentially dangerous craft would come with governing laws. Amongst alchemy's most important rules? Don't perform transmutations with human beings, and know that everything done with alchemy has an equivalent cost. When two youth, Edward and Alphonse Elric, try to revive their dead mother using alchemy, they pay dire costs. After a long recovery they set out seeking to reclaim what they lost.
While the Elrics meet a wide variety of people on their long journey a major presence is the Amestris military, many of whom are alchemists themselves. Of these talented, eccentric personnel few are more talented or more eccentric than Alex Louis Armstrong. A Major in the army and son of the prominent, refined Armstrong family, Alex is a gigantic, muscular man who performs combat alchemy with spiked metal gauntlets. He can seem incredibly intimidating until it quickly becomes clear that Armstrong is not at all uppity or violent. Instead he's flamboyant and emotional, prone to posing, dramatic monologues, even embracing his friends when caught up in the moment. He can come off like a big goofball, but his efforts are sincere as are his sentiments that his use of alchemy to protect others elevates it to an art form. Armstrong proves to be no fool time and again, backing up his philosophy with strength and willpower to spare.

Why are you joining our happy community?
Eh? An excellent question! The opportunity to mentor youth with an interest in the creative, not to mention share the exceptional techniques handed down through my family for generations, is one I could not possibly refuse. It is truly outstanding to be here!
Do you think you are good in a crisis? Why?
As a member of the military I am trained to respond to a crisis of any kind without hesitation. Beyond that, to assist others in need is not just part of the Armstrong code but one of my personal principles as a man.
If there was a good dog and a criminal both hanging from a cliff and you could only save one, which would you save and why?
Who lives is not a choice for me to make alone, nor is who is innocent. Obviously I would put my muscles to work, resolve my self a thousandfold, and save both of them. To do anything less would not befit someone who has sworn to help others.
What would you consider to be your "soul" animal and why? (this for purely scientific purposes and will not have consequences during your stay all. Trust us! :))
Hohhhh, this question~! I have given this thought and I believe that man is a beast himself. On a base level mankind requires food, water, companionship, just like all other creatures in nature. All that separates us from animals is our capacity to create, to build and learn.
What is your job here at CFUD? What do you think that means?
To assist the campers here in producing tremendous acts of art spontaneously, whenever the moment grabs them! Additionally, I have become aware that some gorillas here possess artistic ambitions, and while I don't know if animals are capable of art alone, I believe there is potential in collaboration between the campers and these new ape appreciators of the arts. Yes, yes, I'm sure of it now… THIS COMBINATION OF CLASSICAL ARTISTRY AND RAW ANIMALISTIC PASSION WILL SHAKE THE HEAVENS AND EARTH, I SWEAR IT AS A MEMBER OF THE ARMSTRONG FAMILY!
