Character: Ludger Kresnik
Series: Tales of Xillia 2
Character Age: 20

Canon: In Tales of Xillia, the party reunited the two worlds of Rieze Maxia and Elympios. Tales of Xillia 2 deals with the consequences of that reunion. Some of them are expected, such as prejudice against the more spiritual Rieze Maxians. Some of them, such as a myriad of alternate parasitic dimensions sucking all of the energy away from the primary dimension, and a rigged trial set up by the Great Spirits to justify exterminating humanity, really, really weren’t expected at all. Caught up in all of this is Ludger Kresnik, a young man with the ability to destroy alternate dimensions, a 20,000,000 gald debt, a brother hiding secrets from him, and a terrible destiny that he must fulfil to save the world and humanity.

Fortunately for the world, Ludger is an easy-going, somewhat long-suffering guy with an overly developed sense of responsibility who is willing to put aside his own feelings for the sake of his friends and family or the world despite how much it hurts him. This doesn’t make him a saint though: Ludger has a cheeky sense of humor that comes out when teasing his friends, vents his frustration with the occasional sarcastic or bitter remark, is prone to reckless behavior and is awful at asking for help when he needs it. But if you need a friend at a time of need, Ludger is there to enthusiastically help you out with whatever you need, from errands to randomly doing backflips to make you laugh.

Note: a GHS is a mobile phone analogue and Ludger’s has an uncanny knack of calling when he’s talking to people.

Sample Entry:
Tell us about yourself in a few words.
My name’s Ludger, Ludger Kresnik. I’m twenty years old, I live in Trigleph with my brother and our cat and … that’s about it.

Why are you joining our happy community?
I was hoping you could tell me that. It’s not the first time I’ve woken up in a strange place with no memory of how I got there, but I really hope this doesn’t lead to any more debt. I already have enough of that!

What do you expect from the campers here?
I don’t know. No-one’s told me that much about them. I don’t think that there’ll be any problem though, I’m good with looking after kids. After everything I’ve seen and done, I really think I could help them. It must be hard, being away from their family. I don’t think I could be as strong as they’ve been.

What do you expect from the counselors?
A drink would be nice! I just hope I don’t get underfoot while I’m learning how to do my job. Though, I don’t seem to have one. The paperwork must be lost.

Do you have a five year plan in mind?
Not really. Julius tells me I should do that but everything’s been moving so fast lately that I just … I’ll see if I can find the time while I’m here.

Why are you a valuable asset to this camp?
I’ve heard you guys get a bit short-staffed when it comes to food, especially on Tuesdays. I’m a good cook and I’d be happy to cook for you. Just let me know how you like it and I’ll find the ingredients!

Do you think you are good in a crisis? Why?
Everyone tells me that I’m dependable, so I guess so. I just do what needs to be done.

What if the crisis involved the end of the world? Please explain.
It wouldn’t be the first time. I would say that it has my number on speed dial but I already know it does.

If you could choose to bring three things to a desert island, what would you bring and why?
I can guarantee that even if I said I wouldn’t bring my GHS, I would be ordered to anyway. I would need my weapons, and I guess shelter and water? Maybe I’ll be lucky and be called away to work … heh. That’d be hard if I’m alone on the island.
