Character: Kureshima Mitsuzane aka Micchi
Series: Kamen Rider Gaim
Character Age: 17

Canon: (FINALE SPOILERS AHEAD) In Zawame City, a kid-friendly gang war between street dance teams heated up after Yggdrasill Corporation (which virtually owns and rules everything in Zawame) introduced fruit-themed lock-shaped devices called Lock Seeds. What originally was a harmless way to resolve conflict, via pokemon-like fights, quickly became much more warlike after a select few used Lock Seeds to transform into warriors called Armored Riders. Lock Seeds turned out to come from a mysterious and dangerous realm called Helheim Forest, a place Yggdrasill has been secretly researching for years. They all later learn that Helheim holds the source of godhood, which further intensifies the fighting amongst the riders and Yggdrasill. Everyone’s loyalties are tested and most break as ambitions grow and a war for this forbidden fruit of knowledge rages in Zawame and beyond.

All Mitsuzane wanted was friends and freedom from his predetermined life as Yggdrasill Corporation’s second heir. Intelligent and guile, he hid his family background and led a double life as one of Team Gaim’s street dancers. He even became an Armored Rider to back up his best friend. Usually calm and polite, Mitsuzane uses his powers to protect the people he loves, despite his occasional leanings towards cynicism. This desire became corrupted though as he learned what exactly his family’s business had been doing and was convinced to lie more and keep secrets much bigger than he ever imagined. This eventually escalated into him being a homicidal, manipulative, and double-crossing control freak. It’s only after literally losing everything and everyone he cared for that he realizes just how awful his sins are.

By the end of the series, he reverts back to his more friendly personality and is working hard to redeem himself. It’s just that he now also has a tremendous amount of guilt. It’s understandable when you know you played a big part in how Earth nearly had an apocalypse.

Sample Entry:

Tell us about yourself in a few words.

I am Kureshima Mitsuzane from Zawame, Japan. It’s a pleasure to meet you. I understand there’s already some awareness about my family so please let me know if you have any concerns. I want us all to be honest and open with each other. I hope we can all get along.

Why are you joining our happy community?

I can see how this camp can be a “happy community” but no one should have to tolerate this many problems. I was honored when I received your letter asking for assistance so I hope to help make this place better. Everyone deserves to live in peace and be free from monsters. You can’t even swim in peace with Marcy-san taking up so much room in the ocean. It’s not right.

I’m also concerned about some of the plants you have around here, even if that underwear tree could be useful. They seem too active for anyone’s comfort. I’ve seen what can happen when strange plants run wild and not enough people can weed them out. It’s a dangerous infestation.

Do you have a five year plan in mind?

My plan is to help whoever I can. Given my family’s past actions and my own, I know there’s still a lot of work that needs to be done. I also know my plan sounds very general and vague for now but it needs to start somewhere. I’m prepared to be here for however long it takes before it’s peaceful. It seems that Camp Fruitful Unity and Determination can live up to its name. There just needs to be more support.

Can you perform a flawless headshot?

I have plenty of experience with firearms and fighting. They’re some of the reasons why I feel I can help here. Just before this survey, I had to fire a few rounds at some of my pursuers. It wasn’t too difficult but that was the first time I’ve ever had to get away from zombies who were too accurate with the “Thriller” music video. It’s a shame they didn’t want an audience. They had pretty good moves for monsters with rotting joints.

What are your thoughts on mysterious places that seem to come from nowhere and have things that shouldn’t exist?

They can also be dangerous. Sure, they might have a lot of scientific potential but you have to go in with a lot of wariness if you’re going to explore them at all. People could check in but they might not ever check out. You could be trapped because of something so much bigger than yourself. You can’t always be sure about what’s lurking there or whether or not you can handle them. You never know what could happen to you.

Most of all, you don’t want to come out of the other side completely different from what you’d like to be. I hope there isn’t a lot of that here. Unwanted transformations happen when you least expect it. Believe me, I’d know.
