Character: Blake Belladonna.
Series: RWBY.
Character Age: Seventeen.
Canon: The world of Remnant is torn apart by its darker aspects, creatures known as grimm, criminals and terrorists alike who wish to exploit its magical resources. These forces, luckily enough for the innocent people of the world, are thwarted by the noble hunters and huntresses of the world! There are many teenagers studying and training to work toward the greater good for their broken world, and Blake Belladonna is certainly no exception.
Blake's introduced as the secretive quiet loner, the girl who'd rather roll her eyes and act withdrawn, burying herself in a book over taking part in any commotion. It's seen fairly quickly that she's very sharp in both mind and tongue, as she is direct with her words, and seems to have the experience behind her in order to back it all up. But again, that's when she decides to speak up. Compared to the others in her group? She's the one who is most definitely under the radar, something she very much prefers.
This is because we eventually find out that she used to belong to one of those terrorist groups that see fit to disrupt what peace there is in the world-- the White Fang. This group is made up of faunus-- people with animal features-- who hold the plights of humans against them, as they have found themselves oppressed by the social constructs they put into place. Blake herself wants to hide her faunus self due to these things, hoping that people will see her for who she is first, rather than someone to be pitied or hated. Inequality, corruption, people being needlessly downtrodden by the way the world works... all she wants to do is fight against it, even if she does have her own insecurities and fears to overcome. Luckily, she has Team RWBY to back her up!
Sample Entry:
Tell us about yourself in a few words.
My name is Blake Belladonna. [She folds her arms, looking away... there's a bit of a placid, if not bored look about her, completely in touch with her calm tone.] I am-- was a huntress-in-training at Beacon Academy. There's not much more I can really say about myself... [Sigh.] I like spending my down time with a good book and a cup of tea. Maybe a tuna sandwich...
Why are you joining our happy community?
[Have a shrug. She's still looking away...] Simply put, maybe I can do some good here.
Why are you a valuable asset to this camp?
I know how to keep a level head, for one. I don't go on long, arduous rants on how I can change thing for the better, I just do it. Not without some form of a plan, of course. I have experience, I know how to handle myself in combat, and I stay out of danger until the right moment.
What do you expect from the campers here?
Not much. [Another shrug is just rolling off her shoulders.] I'm sure they're just like any other group of people. There's always the good people, the bad people, people willing to help, people who need to be protected. I don't except a camp to be any different.
What do you expect from the counselors?
I expect them to be leaders, above all else, accepting responsibility where responsibility is due. At the very least, I really hope they're competent enough to help the campers get through the... "events" I've heard went on here.
Can you perform a flawless headshot? If not, and if your life depended on it, how many hours a week would you be willing to spend on the shooting range?
...does this have anything to do with the shotgun I was promised upon my arrival?
[........]
I can shoot well enough, yes. As far as headshots are concerned, my experience has only been with creatures, rather than people. [She might have shifted for a split second at taht.] But with enough practice, I can work on strengthening my precision. In any case, I wouldn't let my skills slip. I'd dedicate some time to keeping up on my skill.
Would you be able to dispose of the flesh of the undead? How?
I... [Okay, she's pausing.
Surely those "events" couldn't go this far... could they? Well. At least she's read up on this.]
Don't you just burn the bodies?
