Character: Ogami Rei
Series: Code:Breaker
Character Age: 16
Canon:

There are those in Japan who are not properly punished for their crimes. When the law fails to serve justice, that is the time when the Code:Breakers must step up to the plate. In fighting evil, one must become just as evil as those who are being punished, even if it means becoming a murderer themselves. What makes these Code:Breakers special is the fact that they possess unique powers and are ranked based on their strength. While they are deemed allies, they do not consider themselves friends, merely people with the same goal. On one fateful day, a naive, but strong-willed girl, who possesses her own mysterious powers, witnesses the punishment being handed down by Ogami. From that point on, she has a strong conviction to stop him from using his power for murder at any cost.

Just like the power of fire he possesses, Ogami Rei is a force to be reckoned with. His anger burns deep and is hard to quell. Every fiber of his being believes that the scum and garbage of the world must atone for their sins, even if he must become the evil he so despises. Despite this, while attending school, the persona given off is completely the opposite; a perfect mask of the 'good, normal kid’. While he may claim that he doesn't care for others, there is a deep concern for the well-being of those he truly cares about - even if this care is expressed in harsh and cruel ways. The more he cares about a person, the more critical and verbal he’ll be over their reckless behavior. Under certain circumstances, that care may even turn to the use of fists. Even if he wants the world to be in black and white, things have a tendency to come in grays; something that he struggles with and even tries to deny. In his eyes, punishment for evil is supposed to be straightforward.

Whatever piece of trash is responsible for bringing me here is going to be in a world of hurt. I can handle almost all of this, but I swear if one more of these damn squirrels comes at me, I'm going to start setting them all on fire. Seems like roast squirrel would be a better meal than some of the things that are offered in that mess hall.

Speaking of that rotten food, I’ll have to scope out the terrain and see if there is anything else worthwhile for hunt. What I catch and kill for myself are things I know I can trust. And, at least, I know it’s fresh. I’m sure there are some innocent people out there who need a proper meal or two. Maybe that would win me a few points in the normal game. Then again, if they saw me muttering to a giant squid about ‘damn squirrels’ and eating them crispy, they’d probably make sure to avoid me at all costs.

Even with all these things that are out of the ordinary here, I'm more concerned about what the human elements will do to one another. Dire situations seem to bring out the best in people or show how twisted they are. Clean up around here might not be such a bad idea. Evil for evil, as it's obvious there is no law to punish the sinful. I’d imagine there are a lot of innocent people wrapped up in this and if there is any way I can help protect them from the corrupt, I will see to it before they’re forced to turn to evil themselves.

Suppose I should try to find somewhere for sleeping tonight. I know they have lodgings for us newcomers, but I don’t think I can trust a place like that. So, this is where we part ways, Marcy. Before you ask, I’m not going to fall trap to your wandering tentacles. I think I have a few suction cup marks on my leg from our earlier encounter. A squid isn’t what I’d call a good bedmate.
