Character: Helena
Series: Orphan Black

Job: Hearts & crafts counselor
Canon: In the world of Orphan Black, cloning humans isn't just a theory, as protagonist Sarah Manning discovers after she assumes the identity of a woman who looks freakishly like her. Expecting to make some quick money off of someone else's tragedy, Sarah instead finds herself mired in the dangerous mystery that is her entire life—and the life of her fellow clones, or "sisters" as they prefer to call each other. For each new piece of the puzzle they discover, the sisters are left only with more questions than answers. Who are they, why were they made, why are some of them getting ill, and who the hell is trying to kill them off?
Helena is one of these clones, and was ordered to try to kill the others off until she discovers her true family. The mirror twin to Sarah, Helena was secreted away to Ukraine and raised, if you can call it that, by brutal and ruthless nuns. After the nuns, she was indoctrinated and trained by a religious extremist who set her out in the world to kill her own clones. Semi-feral yet bilingual, what Helena lacks in social skills and etiquette she makes up for in hunger, both for sweets and the blood of her enemies. These dichotomies are ultimately what make Helena Helena. She's remarkably gentle and kind to children, especially while showing them the best way to gouge a grown man's eyes out. Her devotion to the other sisters–or Sestras, as she calls them, from her native Ukrainian—is strong and fierce, especially when it comes to Sarah, despite the fact that not too long ago she was trying to kill them all. The juxtaposition of Helena's childlike wonder and naïvetée with her brutal and ruthless skills makes her simultaneously untrustworthy and disarming to the people around her.
Note: Helena has a very heavy Ukrainian accent and thusly her English is not traditionally structured or pronounced.

What is few words? Is this too many words already? I am Helena. I am from Ukraine. But really I am from belly with my sestra, Sarah. What do you want to know? Maybe you give me candy, for answers.
Why are you joining our happy community?
I want the candy for answers. This is not candy. This community has candy, yes? Then that is why I join. I want candy and I want sestras and maybe I find them here. Maybe I don't? Who can say?
Do you think you are good in a crisis? Why?
I am good in crisis. In Ukraine, I was kept in tiny room until I forget what light is like. But do not worry. I take out nun's eyes when she came in. She was very, very mean. I get candy for this now? I like the Sour Patch Kids. Also very good for making person choke.
What if the crisis involved the end of the world? Please explain.
If world ends, then what is crisis? We are all dead. I don't see this point. But maybe stopping end of world, I can still be calm. This is how I am. I would want to save the babies and children. And Sestras. And Jesse. He is boyfriend. And Donnie Hendrick. He is strong husband of Sestra Alison. Then Art can bring pudding. There is pudding here, yes? I want that and the Sour Patch Kids. And the fishies. This is here?

What is squeamish? This is… sick of blood and guts? I said already I take out eyes of nun. Does this seem squeamish? I am bored of this questions. I am hungry. Please, the candy.
Would you be able to dispose of the flesh of the undead? How?
I don't know this "undead" but for flesh, I use lye. Yes, maybe it take some time but it works. Better to put in tank with water and seal. Gloves are good. And mask on face and eyes. It's not so good for breathing. After a little time, it's like jelly.
I want jelly. Jell-O. I am done, yes? So bring me the foods. With extra sugar.
